In today’s blog post the simple remodelling task is what we write about. We are giving you some tips how to do it and what to keep in mind. Plus, we also speak a bit about choosing a suitable planter or pot as well as how and with what to fill it. Keep reading and find answers to your questions related to this topic.
How to get your artificial plant back to their original shape after unboxing?
Right, let’s start form the beginning. We will advise you in what and which order you could do so. As mentioned before all the products will be packed with care because otherwise the branches and leaves that are spread out could be harmed. So there is nothing wrong with your product and there is nothing unusual if taken straight from the box it needs some adjusting. Its just the initial shape of it due to safe transportation. To give the plant back its natural look is quick and easy.

First step would be to take the plant of out the box and place it on a table or floor where it would be comfortable for you to reshape it. The procedure itself is easy and not much effort is needed. The branches and leaves just need some bending and the plant looks like the one on the image before you know it!
We recommend to start with the bigger branches and by bending them slightly give them back their natural curve. By doing it gently from the bottom to the top there is nothing you can do wrong. Dont worry - you won’t harm or break anything. If you curved them too far then that’s okay too as you can redo it with no problem anytime you like.
When you are finished with the bigger leaves and branches move on to the smaller ones and repeat the same proccess to give them their natural volume. Take one last look at the plant in the actual spot where it will be kept from then on. By doing so you can finish up and adjust the last details on the spot and you'll get the best vision if something is uneven. Again, the remodelling proccess isn’t difficult because you will see which way the leaves and branches would like to be heading, they are kind of pointing the right direction themselves. Try and remodel the way you feel it should be. Look at it closely and from a distance, whatever makes it easier for you. Remodel them until you are happy with the end result.
This lifelike artificial fiddle-leaf fig (95 cm) makes an outstanding decoration element to every home and office. This plant will also be wrapped up when arriving to you so the remodelling will be neccessary. As you can see on its 360 degree rotatable image you will not have to work hard on it, it will be just a quick procedure.
How to select a pot or a planter?
Choosing a suitable pot for a living plant can sometimes be a true headache and much more challenging than expected. The decorativeness and it matching with the overall interior design of the room is one side of the story but the pot also needs to provide favorable conditions for the plant to grow well.
There is a huge variety in the pot market. Many of them are plastic, some are made of porcelan, clay, glass and so on. Some materials keep the warmth and humidity better, some let the plant breath more. Some plants love water and to some of them the excessive irrigation can be deadly. Now here the size and shape of the pot is the second aspect. Neither too big nor too small are good. Also it’s depth and shape affect the soil’s ability to retain moisture which yet again can and will have an impact on the plant’s vitality.

Therefore not every pot suits to every living plant. The features of the pot and the needs of the certain plant should most definitely be taken into account. Have you heard that it’s recommended to place an orchid into a glass pot for its roots to get more light and improve the photosynthesis? Often pots with little holes are recommended so that the plant could spread its roots, get rid of the excessive water and just have a better environment to live in.
I suppose you’re thinking now that there are too many details to think of! Therefore it’s making us extra happy that for example this stunning artificial orchid (50 cm) on the image below is shining bright and couldn’t care less in which kind of pot or bowl it’s been placed in.
As proven again, high quality artificial plants make our life easier in terms of picking our favourite pot and they give you significantly more options when making the decision. We can pick the pot primarily according to our own taste preferences and vision that is inspired by the general style of home or work space. As artificial plants bring vibrant ambience and originality to any room then a cool decorative pot is also a nice interior design element. A beautiful plant and a suitable pot compliment each other and bring value to the whole room.
Opinions vary but a number of interior designers recommend avoiding pots of the same colour as the wall and the floor. It would blend into the background and not get the deserved attention. Meanwhile also keep in mind that the plant and the pot should not compete or overpower one another.

Maybe your outstanding and colorful excotic plant could be complemented by a more modest pot in order to maintain the balance and thus avoid the rivality between the two beautiful accossories of yours?
After all it’s your call – pick whatever you like the best and what suits the style of the room. Enjoy the advantage that the undemanding artificial plants provide and choose from any material or which ever the shape - only the sky is the limit! Whatever you decide keep in mind that you aren’t risking with the health and well-being of your durable artificial plant.

In the table below of each product of Green4Ever you will find the measurement of the inner pot the plant you orderd comes with. That way it is easy for you to know the size of a decorative cover to choose for your new favourite. We always advise to pick the decorative pot a few centimeters larger so you could easily fit the plant with the inner pot inside.
How and with what to fill my decorative pot?
So if the exact measurements are not known and if you are unsure aim for a larger rather than a smaller pot as the too little one can be unstable and collapse especially when a larger tree is in it. On the other hand, with a too large pot you can easily play with the filling and make it fit perfect - adjust wit with a few easy steps.
The bottom of the pot that turned out to be too deep can be raised with handy tools. Use for example cardboard and paper or put an old pot upside down. Sand or gravel are also used to fill a larger amount of empty space. All this helps to secure the plant and keep it in there safe. However, as the top layer we recommend using some kind of decorative filling. For example our decorative wooden chips.
Adding these 3 to 25 mm long wooden chips as the final touch will make it all look complete. These chips of ours we offer in three different colours – natural as on the image above, also in cream and black. On the store the chips are available in five litre packages but we can also offer you a 35 litre ones upon a request.
